Although, he had wrestled and dabbled in boxing in the past, Tom had no formal or consistent martial arts training until joining Hayastan MMA in April of 2007. He proved a quick study under Sensei Booe and after many years of training and competing, he has currently earned a Level 10 (Black Belt) Instructors' rank in Hayastan Submission Fighting System under Sensei Gokor Chivichyan. Tom has placed or won gold in his division in many regional and national tournament circuits. He is also a Senior rank in Hayastan Kickboxing/MMA classes under Sensei Booe and Grady. His role as Wrestling Coach is expanded to also teaching our MMA Grappling class. He will also teach on occasion in our Adult Kickboxing and Grappling on scheduled evenings.
Sensei Bryan Battle was a varsity football and basket player in high school and was searching for his next competitive endeavors when he walked through the doors of Hayastan MMA Charlotte in early 2016. His ability to learn quickly, as well as his grinding work ethic was apparent from day one. Since then, he has proven his metal as a 2 time Amateur Champion with an impressive 8-2 record. He is now embarking on his Pro MMA career and continuing to improve. He is currently a Level 5 rank (Blue/Red Belt) in Hayastan Submission Fighting System under Sensei Tom, Kevin and Tony and a rising leader on the Fight Team. Bryan is a familiar face at Hayastan and is very popular among the kids and adult students he interacts with. Bryan teaches Kids' Kickboxing and Kids' Grappling at Hayastan.
